I’ve
been around academia for much of my career: I taught high
school English for six years (in Virginia and Massachusetts)
before going back to graduate school. Prior to joining Blackboard,
I worked for the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship
at Babson College. In fact, academia is sort of a genetic
condition in my family: my dad’s a university chancellor,
and my mom and brother are both professors.
In
my current role at Blackboard as the Manager of Blackboard
Communities, I’m responsible for helping our clients connect
and develop communities of practice. This includes managing
the Greenhouse Awards granting program, and Bb Connections,
as well as supporting regional user groups.
On a personal note…hmmm… my new favorite musician is Seu Jorge
(Brazilian actor/musician who was featured as “Pele” in The
Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou), and I can quote more lines
from Raising Arizona than any normal person should.
